FAST Policy and Procedures - Inclement Weather
Background:
This policy has been adopted as a safety measure for our swimmers, families, coaching staff, and facility staff.
Procedure:
Parents should check radio, TV, internet, etc. for possible FWISD closures.
If weather conditions deteriorate, parents should be prepared to pick up swimmers early from the pool.
Every attempt will be made to notify all swimmers.
The FAST website will be updated if possible to reflect cancellations.
A "FAST News" email will be sent out if possible to notify members of a practice cancel.
Swimmers should report on time to practices scheduled at Forest Park pool but be prepared to leave early if the coach decides to cancel practice.
Parents should check the
North Texas Swimming
website for the status of swim meets held during inclement weather.
Exceptions:
None.
Policy:
Safety of the FAST members, coaching staff, and pool staff is the first priority and common sense should be followed.
If the Fort Worth ISD shuts down operations for a full-day, then FAST will not conduct practice.
If the Fort Worth ISD does operate but weather conditions are bad, FAST will exercise good judgement and decide whether or not to conduct practice.
FAST will conduct practice at Forest Park during rainstorms. If lightening is detected, practice will be suspended for a safe interval or canceled.
FAST will not refund meet entry fees already paid to meet hosts for swim meets canceled for any reason.
Definitions:
None.
