Isara is one of our swim instructors at our Sigma Swim Fort Worth South location. Today we interviewed Isara focusing on coaching, motivation and the atmosphere at Sigma Swim School Fort Worth.

Q: How and why did you become involved in the sport swimming?
A: My old Sigma coach got me to join my high school swim team.
Q: What do you hope your swimmers will learn from you?
A: I hope they will learn some skills that will last them a lifetime. Everyone should know how to swim.
Q: What does coaching the sport of swimming mean to you?
A: It means a lot to me.
Q: How did you stay motivated in the sport growing up, and how do you keep your swimmers motivated?
A: I stayed motivated because I wanted to stay in shape. I keep my swimmers motivated by making practice interesting and challenging.
Q: What is your favorite thing about coaching the sport and your favorite thing about your swimmers?
A: My favorite thing is being able to see swimming from a swimmer and coaching perspective.
Q: Who do you think are one or more of the greatest swimmers ever and why?
A: Michael Phelps, and Katie Ledecky.
Q: What do you tell a young child that is afraid of the water at his/her first swim lesson and how do you try to make it less scary for them?
A: I tell them that there is nothing to be afraid of because water is our friend.
Q: How do you prepare a swimmer for his/her first USA swim meet?
A: Lots of healthy food and good workouts in the weeks leading up to the meet.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being around your swimmers and the atmosphere of Sigma?
A: I get to see what I looked like in swim lessons growing up.
Q: What do you like to do when you are not coaching?
A: Reading/video games and lots of sleep.
