Fact of the week: Efficient and fast swimming is a series of interconnected movements/skills. Some are more optimal than others. Watching the top swimmers can often help with finding better ways to move through the water. In butterfly, if the head is raised or lowered too far, the body will sit incorrectly in the water. This will also lead to the propulsion generated from the kick to be directed at too much of an angle upward or downward rather than forward.
How does my swimmer move up? Our group promotion standards are your guide to growing and graduating! Promotion times can be achieved in practice or swim meets. We prefer to see them happen at a swim meet!
